What To Expect

Morning

Start your day with hot coffee or tea delivered to your cabin, and watch the morning sun as it rises over Knee Lake. On colder mornings, part of the wake-up call includes your personal guide lighting a fire for you and insuring you are ready to begin your day. Pancakes, fresh eggs, french toast, sausages, bacon, hash browns and fresh homemade breads or lifestyle choices of yogurt and fruits are waiting for you in our unique dining room before you head out for your day of fishing.

You could visit our tackle store for any last minute lure or beverage purchases, or maybe a North Star Resort cap. Don't forget your camera!

Head down to your cabin's shorefront dock and your guide will pick you up at your pre-arranged time.

Afternoon

By noon you're on your way to one of the highlights of the trip, freshly caught walleye prepared especially for you at your private shore lunch location. Add some fried potatoes, beans, corn, onions, fresh bread and homemade cookies, and you have a renowned Knee Lake Shore Lunch. On your first day our talented outdoor chiefs will prepare the traditional shore lunch - which means your fresh-caught Walleye are gently coated in our very own breading mix then pan fried to a golden morsel.

Ask your guide for his list of other special North Star Resort recipes which include Mustard Walleye, Cajun Walleye, Sweet & Sour Walleye, Vegetable Stir-fry, as well as Baked.

Our shore lunch locations are positioned around the lake and chosen for their scenic outlook as well as convenience. Most locations feature picnic tables. For your added comfort we have some sites with facilities. If you would like to arrange a special shore lunch with other guests we would be pleased to make the arrangements. After a little rest, and perhaps a tackle check, its back to catching more great fish.

Evening

Return to the lodge for hors d'oeuvres and a drink at the bar. For dinner you will feast on such sumptuous fare as Prime Rib or our chef's famous barbecued baby back ribs with Canadian Wild Rice. Our evening meals are hearty delectable fare prepared to satisfy discriminating palates.

After dinner you might want to try your hand at some shuffle board, or wander over to the lounge and exchange stories about the day's action and sights; or maybe just get to bed early for tomorrow's ultimate fishing adventure. The large front deck invites you to relax with an after dinner coffee or beverage, the view is a refreshment itself.
