What To Bring

To help make your trip a little more comfortable, enjoyable and successful

Clothing

  • A good set of 100% waterproof raingear (Gore-Tex or silicone nylon)
  • One warm parka with hood or heavy jacket for those cold days (preferably wind proof)
  • A good fleece jacket or hooded fleece sweat shirt
  • A couple pairs of long and short sleeve shirts
  • 2 pairs of pants, preferably quick dry pants (quick drying and windproof)
  • A pair of shorts, for those hot days
  • A warm pair of long underwear, tops and bottoms
  • Wool and polyester socks
  • A good pair of wool or insulated gloves
  • A pair of shoes and a good pair of waterproof boots

Misc. Equipment

  • Hat or sun visor
  • #30 sunscreen (Preferably waterproof)
  • Polarized fishing glasses
  • Waterproof camera - extra batteries, especially with a digital camera
  • Needlenose pliers
  • Matches/lighter

Northern Pike

Reels: Matching reels with durable drag system (go with a front drag system if using spinning reel) (Shimano, Abu-Garcia, Quantum)

Line: Minimum 20 LB test line. (Berkley Whiplash, Trilene BigGame or XT)

Leaders: 18 to 24 inch - 45 to 60LB test Wire or Titanium leaders, with cross-lok snap swivels "only."
